Soren Murphy-Carlson was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, where he started playing guitar at the age of fifteen. He currently attends UNC School of the Arts in Winston Salem and is working towards a Bachelor's degree in Classical Guitar Performance. He currently studies with Joseph Pecoraro, although his first teacher was the late Brad Earnhardt. He has attended masterclasses with the likes of JiJi, Julian Lage, and Ana Vidovic. Prior to joining Separk, he was a freelance teacher for two years, and played gigs all throughout highschool.
